The Wotofo Profile RDTA was sent to me for review from Wotofo. This is the latest and greatest iteration of the very popular Profile series of atomizers, this time in RDTA form. And that’s really exciting for me because I love RDTAs.

Design
The Profile RDTA pretty much looks like the OG Profile sitting on top of a tank. I think its a great looking tank. You have slots on the tank section to see inside, which gives it a nice look and also protects the glass a little bit.
One of the coolest features about this tank is that you can use it in RDTA form or you can transform it into an RDA. So it’s like getting two atomizers in one. If you don’t already have a Profile RDA, just get this and you get the best of both worlds. It’s awesome.
And because of the unique two-in-one design of this tank, you have your standard RDA top cap that you can pull off and easily drip right into. I think this is truly innovative. I love it.
Drip Tip
The drip tip is the same type of drip tip you’d expect on a Profile atomizer. It’s a big 810 resin tip with a metal ring at the base. It’s a great looking drip tip and it’s really comfortable to use.
Top Cap and Barrel
The top cap and barrel are a standard RDA set up. You’ll see some cutouts on the top cap for the airflow. When you turn the top cap in the barrel, you can go through all of the different airflow holes.
Airflow
The Profile RDTA has honeycomb-style airflow, which comes in from the side of the barrel. There are three rows of holes on each side. You can adjust the airflow in a few different ways, for example, you can adjust the airflow on all three rows at the same time from the side or you can adjust one row at a time.
There’s really no way to change how the airflow hits the coils so you don’t have to worry about positioning the coils with the airflow. It just always hits perfectly.
Build Deck
The build deck is nearly the same deck as the Profile RDA, There’s plenty of space here to work with and you still have a spring-loaded insert to push the cotton up into the mesh strip. The insert works great and the spring is strong enough to give it just the right amount of resistance.
Just like previous Profile atomizers, the Profile RDTA works with both mesh strips and regular coils.
To install a mesh strip, start by wrapping a mesh strip around the coil bending tool that comes in the box. This will round out the strip to the perfect shape to fit into the deck. Then loosen up the screws on the posts, put the strip in place, and tighten it all down.
If you’ve never used a Profile atomizer before, it’s important to remember that the cotton you put in here needs to be pretty tight. You need a lot of cotton. If you don’t pack it in there, the cotton will shrink when it gets soaked with e-liquid and you’ll get a hot spot if it doesn’t touch the mesh. You don’t want it so tight that you can barely fit the cotton in there, but it needs to be tight. The cotton that comes with the Profile RDTA is perfect and you won’t have to worry about it as long as you keep using those strips, so I recommend that you keep buying these strips until you get the hang of cutting your own.
When you trim the cotton, cut it so that it’s just long enough to reach the bottom of the deck, but no more than that. To get the cotton to wick properly, I would also suggest trimming the cotton at an angle so that it’s trimmed shorter close to the coil.
If you want to use a regular coil instead of a mesh strip, it’s as easy as dropping the coil into the slots in the spring-loaded clamp and then tightening the posts down. Wotofo suggests that you use either a single 3mm inner-diameter coil positioned in the middle or two 3mm inner-diameter coils offset from the middle. You can fit some big coils in here!
Also on the deck is a pressure relief vent, which helps to prevent the tank under the tank from building up pressure and causing leaks.
And then this larger hold near one of the clamps is the fill hole, which is how you fill the lower tank.
So that’s about it for building the deck.
Below the Deck
Now here’s where things are different from the Profile RDA. Beneath the deck is the tank. The glass tank seals onto the bottom of the deck with an o-ring. Here you’ll also see several groups of stainless steel wire. These wires lead up into the deck and feed liquid up to the cotton.
In my experience with this tank, the steel wires wick fine but a little slow. It doesn’t wick fast enough if you want to chain vape for five minutes straight but for the most part, the wires will keep your wick wet enough.
Converting Into an RDA
If you ever want to change this tank into an RDA, all you need to do is take off the tank and then screw the RDA adapter onto the bottom of the top section. You’ll need to choose which pin you want to use; either the solid pin or the squonk pin.
Coils
Wotofo recommends vaping this between 70-75 watts, but the range is from 60-80 watts.
nexMESH Clapton
Wotofo just released a completely new mesh strip for the Profile RDTA where the mesh is actually Clapton-wrapped wires. This is such a cool idea. I don’t know if I would actually call it mesh, but it’s a similar idea.
Even though the minimum recommended wattage for these is 60 watts, I got really good performance even at 40. It’s very cool but really flavorful. When I take it up to 80 it seems to be pushing it but right around 70 seems perfect. Good flavor and warmth.
nexMESH Turbo
This mesh is a strip with tiny squares punched into it, rather than being braided like typical mesh. It’s the same mesh that came with previous iterations of the Profile and it’s really good. The flavor is great and it works really well at 70-80 watts.
nexMESH Extreme
The flavor from this strip is as good as the others and works great anywhere between the range of 60-80 watts. The main difference here is that you get more heat from this coil than the others.
Leaking
I don’t know if there’s such a thing as a leak-proof RDTA on the market and the Wotofo Profile RDTA leaks too. It’s the nature of the RDTA because it’s basically an RDA sitting on top of a tank. If you tilt it on its side, it’ll leak, so you need to keep it upright.
Final Thoughts
The Wotofo Profile RDTA is awesome, just like all of the other Profile atomizers. The mesh strips make it super easy to set up and you can use regular coils too. And one of the coolest things about the Profile RDTA is that you can take it apart and use it as an RDA too. This has to be the best Profile yet. It’s awesome. And another big plus is that Wotofo includes a whole bunch of coils and accessories in the package, so you can really try it out in every way to find what you like best.
