The SP2S Touch was sent to me for review from SP2S. The SP2S Touch is positioned as simple-to-operate devices suitable for beginners, and I completely agree with that. These are really easy to use and would be no problem at all for a beginner to use.
They sent me two SP2S Touch Devices; one black and one blue, and two pods with different flavors; one peach and one mojito.
Design
It’s a stick-style vape with a sleek aluminum alloy body. It looks great, it’s slim and portable, and also extremely light at only 28 grams. There’s some nice branding and design around the device that adds to the look. The style overall is simplistic and classy.
There are six designs to pick from;
- Blue
- White
- Pink
- Gray
- Silver
- Purple
They all look great and have that nice gradient color design.
LED Lights
There are several LED lights on the Touch. There’s one long LED strip on the side, one on the front panel on the logo, and one at the bottom near the charging port.
The light from each of these creates a smooth calm light that maintains the devices elegant style. The light activates when turning the device on and off, when inserting a pod, when changing modes, and when taking hits.
Functions
You turn the Touch on by tapping it 5 times. And the same to turn it off. I always love having the ability to turn a device completely off, so this is a great feature.
The SP2S Touch is an upgraded version of the SP2S Star devices that I reviewed a few years ago, which I really liked. The Star didn’t have any buttons but it did have adjustable power, which you could change by pulling the pod out three times fast. It was a neat feature and great workaround for not having any buttons.
The Touch makes changing power modes way easier by simply tapping the bottom of the device three times.
There are three power modes available, ranging from 7 to 8.25 watts. Tap the device at the charging port to change the power mode and you’ll see the LED change color to let you know what mode you’re in. The red light means Smooth, white is Classic, and rainbow is Boost. Smooth would be 7 watts and Boost would be 8.25. They don’t specify the wattage for classic but I would guess it’s in the middle, so around 7.5 watts.
Pods
The pods are made with ceramic coils which give it great flavor output and the ability to operate at higher temperatures, which means bigger hits if you want them. I like that.
They hold 2ml of liquid, which is a good amount.
Flavor
The flavors are designed to be mild and pure. I reviewed the SP2S Star pod devices several years ago and that’s exactly what I remember about them. The flavors aren’t overly strong and sweet. These aren’t super sweet flavors like what you’d find in a disposable. That might be a pro or con depending on your preferences, but I’d say it’s perfect for anyone who likes lighter, calmer flavors.
Both of the flavors they sent me – peach and mojito – taste exactly as you’d hope – like their namesake. They’re slightly sweet and more calm, and refreshing flavors. Both are excellent. I like them a lot. They do have a strong menthol hit though, so be aware of that.
Battery
The internal battery is a 450mAh battery, which is plenty for a small stick style device like this. You should have no problem vaping at least a few days on a full charge. This charges with USB-C so it charges fast too.
Final Thoughts
These are great simple devices. They perform great and I get excellent hits, especially in Boost mode. But all modes work really well.
The flavors are excellent and taste just like they’re described. They aren’t cloyingly sweet, which I think a lot of people would appreciate. Instead, these are light and smooth flavors. Which is also great for beginners, and that makes sense since that’s who these are mostly targeted to.
The touch feature is a great idea that makes it easy to turn off and on and change power modes. And the airflow is really comfortable. I really don’t have anything to complain about with these. They’re excellent pod devices.
