Mr Fog Aura Disposables Review

Mr Fog sent me the Aura disposables for review. These disposables feature a nice marbled design on the case, new, interesting flavors, an estimated 60k puffs, visualized airflow control on the screen, and three power modes.

Design

The Auras have a nice look, with marbled designs on each side and a bright, colorful screen. The screen has an hourglass shape, which makes it look even sleeker.

The screen has various graphics to keep it from looking too plain, and it shows the wattage setting, battery charge, liquid levels, and the mode you’re in. And something new I haven’t seen in disposables yet, the screen gives you a visual of how open your airflow control is. That’s really cool.

Modes

There are three modes to pick from, which you can set using the button at the bottom of the device. That button also turns the device off and on, another great feature I like to see in disposables.

So you have Power, Boost, and Eco mode.

Eco mode sets the device to 12 watts. Even though it’s the lowest power, I think it’s a really good hit. I see no reason not to just keep it here to get the most life out of it.

Boost mode takes it up to 18 watts. This is definitely a step up from Eco. You can tell the wattage has jumped up with a little more heat and bigger clouds.

Turbo mode is the max power and puts you at 30 watts. That’s a lot for a disposable. You’ll get a big hit, more flavor, and a lot more warmth.

The Aura has a dual-mesh coil system, so you get lots of flavor and perfect hits in any mode.

Airflow

The airflow dial is on the front of the device near the bottom of the screen. And like I mentioned earlier, Mr. Fog incorporated what they call “Visualized Airflow Control”. Basically, you can see how open the airflow is with a meter on the screen. I really like it. I always end up moving the airflow around in my pocket and not realizing it until I take a hit, so this is a much easier way to make sure it’s where I want it. It’s not super precise to the millimeter, but it’s accurate enough to give you a good idea of where it’s set.

With the dial turned all the way to the left, it’s basically closed off and too tight to vape, which is a good thing. That means you can really fine-tune it to get as tight of a draw as you want by opening it just a little bit at a time.

With the airflow set in the middle, it’s still a very tight draw, but I like it there. I feel like it’s a good hit, and that’s pretty much where I keep it.

With the dial wide open, it’s a mix between loose mouth-to-lung or a restricted lung draw. And I feel like both are pretty comfortable. So you have some really good airflow options here.

Flavors

Mr Fog sent me five flavors to try, so let’s go over those:

Birthday CK

This tastes like blue razz at first, but then it quickly transitions into a birthday cake flavor, with a sort of cakey frosting taste. This is very unique, and I really like it.

Dragon Waterfall

I’m not entirely sure what this flavor is supposed to be, but it has a bit of a floral taste at the beginning and then a sweet and fruity taste.

Rainbow

This is like a sweet fruity mix with a little bit of koolada. Nothing too crazy here, but it’s tasty.

Sour Shock Blue Raspberry

This is a very good blue raspberry flavor, but with a really unique, sour shock at the end of the hit. I can’t think of a way to describe that “sour shock” flavor, but I definitely see why they called it that. All I can say is that it adds a sour twist to the blue razz. It’s really different, and I like this one a lot.

Wave Strawberry

This one tastes like strawberry hard candies. Nothing really more to say than that. It tastes just like those candies.

So that’s all for the flavors they sent me. I really like them all. I feel like they’re all unique and different, which seems rare in disposables these days.

I don’t know how many other flavors they have in this line, but I see at least seven others on their website:

  • Purple Grape
  • Cherry Kiss
  • Magnetic Worm
  • Punch Peach
  • Exotic Berry Fusion
  • Strawberry Watermelon Kiwi Ice
  • Mento Mint

Final Thoughts

Overall, the Mr. Fog Aura is a great disposable with some nice new features. The marbled design looks great, the screen is nice, and the visual airflow meter is a new feature I haven’t seen anywhere else yet. And while it might seem a little gimmicky, I think it’s genuinely useful.

The three power modes give you a surprising amount of control for a disposable, especially being able to take it all the way up to 30 watts, and the dual-mesh coil makes every setting hit really well.

Airflow flexibility is excellent, and the flavors they sent were all unique, bold, and a lot more interesting than what a lot of other disposables are putting out right now.

If I had to make any suggestions to them for the future, I’d say to add more color variety to the screen and to get a little more precision on the airflow meter. But those are tiny things. Overall, I really liked the Aura.
