I have never reached out to an e-juice manufacturer to request samples for review, but I tried Strawberry Queen e-juice at a convention earlier this year and I loved it so much that I couldn’t help myself. I got in touch with them and the owner sent me all four flavors.
This flavor is called “The Jester”
It’s described as a “strawberry jelly filled donut.”
Strawberry Queen packages their e-juices in very nice-looking bottles. The bottles have a nice red tint to it. The e-juice itself has a golden color.
The Jester smells good for the most part, but I actually get a bit of a play-doh smell out of it. I’ve never smelled that before. I don’t remember this e-juice having a play-doh taste when I sampled it at the convention either. I wonder if the recipe has changed.
For this review, I used the iStick 100watt TC at 60 watts using the Indestructible RDA built at 0.77 ohms.
Unfortunately, this e-juice actually kind of tastes like it smells – like play-doh. There’s definitely a nice strawberry flavor in there, though. I get just a tiny bit of jelly, but not any donut flavor.
After tasting the play-doh flavor, I decided to look it up and it turns out that there is a very common flavoring that people use in donut recipes that some people taste as play-doh (Capella’s Glazed Doughnut). Not everyone gets that taste from this flavor, but if you’ve ever tasted play-doh from a donut e-juice before, this one will probably taste like play-doh to you too.
After recording the video review, I decided to take this one out and have some friends try it. Out of four other people, one of them got a play-doh flavor and the rest of them got a delicious jelly-filled donut flavor. So this is one of those weird things with people’s taste buds.
Obviously, for me, this one didn’t work out, but for the majority of people, it will probably be delicious.
The biggest drawback to Strawberry Queen e-juice is that it’s pricey. $20 for a 30ml is a little high, but if it sounds like something you’re interested in, pick it up here. (affiliate link)
