Design

The design is very modern and looks nice. The finish is smooth and the paint is really nice.

I don’t care much for the sticker on the front though. I would have liked for that sticker to be flush with the device, rather than stick out like it does, but it’s not that big of a deal.

Size and Weight

The size is really surprising. In a lot of the pictures, you only see the front of the device, which gave me the impression that it was a little bulky, but then you flip the side and you see that this thing is pretty flat. This size is nice. You could probably slide this into your wallet if you wanted, at least if you’re like me and keep your wallet in your front pocket. But if you’re like George Costanza, maybe you could put it in your back pocket.

But yeah, the Shake is very compact and it’s really light too. It’s about as heavy a couple AA batteries.

It’s Comfortable In The Hand

Mowell touts that the Shake is ergonomic and I would have to agree. It’s very comfortable to use. It’s not bulky or uncomfortable at all. The edges are rounded it feels smooth all around.

Mouth Positioning

I do have some thoughts on how it feels on my mouth. So if you take a pull from the front of your mouth, it’s very comfortable and you get a great seal. But because of the shape of the cartridge, it’s not as comfortable vaping from the side of your mouth. It’s very minor and many of you might not even notice something like that, but I vape from the side of my mouth most of the time, so I noticed it. It still works fine, it’s just harder to get a really tight seal.

The Pods

The pods slide right into the device and connect via metal connectors. One thing to keep in mind is that new pods have a clear strip of plastic that prevents the connectors from making a connection. Just remember to pull that off before trying to plug it in, otherwise, it just won’t work!

The pods have two flaps that you can open to fill it up with e-juice. The fill holes are very tiny, which is a drawback for me. Even fine-tip bottles are hard to use here.

I’ve also noticed that if you don’t open both flaps, the fill hole can flood while trying to fill it up. That’s annoying. So it’s best to open both flaps while adding e-juice.

The pods use a single basic round wire coil. I’m not sure what the specs are of the coil or of the wick. I can’t find any details online. But the pod overall performs great – nice hits and very good flavor for a pod system.

There is no protection from dry hits on here, so if you’re familiar with setups like the Juul, you need to be careful. Just make sure you don’t run it dry.

Mowell Shake Performance

The Shake has a really tight draw, which is perfect for an AIO pod vape. And that draw is smoooooth. It’s good!

It also hits hard – another big plus. You can get some deep long draws on here and it always hits nice, every time. I never have issues with misfiring.

Battery

The battery has a capacity of 400mAh, which is decent. In most pod vapes, 400mAh would go a long way, but because the Shake pushes up to 12 watts, it can drain a little faster than stick-style pod vapes. I’ve found that the charge will last about a day of good use, or to about halfway through a full pod.

To charge the device, you use a typical mini-USB cable and it’ll take about 1-2 hours to charge a completely drained battery. I’ve found it to charge pretty fast.

Final Thoughts

This is an excellent pod vape kit. I absolutely love using it. It’s really easy to use and set up, the flavor is very good, it holds a decent charge, it hits hard every time, and it’s comfortable to hold. This will be my go-to pod device from now on for sure!
