Review of the Doteco MGear 4

The Mgear4 was sent to me for review from Doteco. This is a 510-threaded vape designed mainly for 510-threaded cartridges, but you can use any tank on here if you want.

Specs:

  • 510 thread
  • 16 watts max
  • Adjustable voltage
  • 500mAh internal battery
  • USB Type-C charging

In The Box:

  • MGear4 device
  • Type-C USB cable

Design of the MGear4

The MGear4 comes in several colors: black, rainbow, blue, gold, and steel. They sent me the blue and steel which I think both look great. These have metal bodies with a metal switch, so they’re built nicely and are super shiny. I think they look good.

On the front of the device are an LED light, a firing button, and a laser engraving of the device name. And they hooked me up with one laser-engraved model with my brand name on it, so that was cool of them to do! On the top is the 510 connection with airflow grooves so that you can use cartridges that have airflow holes in the threads. And then, on the bottom is the USB-C charging port.

Features and Functions

Click the switch five times fast to turn the device off and on.

There are four adjustable voltage modes to pick from when you click the firing button three times fast. The green light indicates 2.7 volts, blue is 3.2 volts, yellow is 3.7 volts, and red is 4.2 volts.

To fire the device, you hold the firing button. And I like how the LED light gradually lights up as you press the firing button. It glows so smooth!

There’s also a 15-second pre-heat function here, so you can start that by pressing the firing button two times fast. And you can turn that off at any time by pressing the firing button again.

Battery

The internal battery is a decent 500mAh battery. It’s not a massive battery, but this is also a super-tiny device, so the size makes sense. It charges using a USB-C cable and fully charges in about 45 minutes. It has this nice seal on the charging port, too, which is nice because it prevents dirt from getting in there.

Final Thoughts

It’s a simple device that does what you need it to do. It looks good, is small, has adjustable voltage, pre-heat features, and uses USB-C to charge, so all good things. I think it’s a great device. I would have liked a longer USB-C cable and a user manual that indicates the voltage for each LED color, but that’s it. It’s a great little tiny 510 cartridge vape device.
