The Phantom Box 36k was sent to me for review from Fumot. This is a disposable vape with two wattage modes; 15w and 25w, a dual mesh coil, a bright full panel screen, and 16 different flavors. These also come in 2% or 5% nicotine. They sent me 2%.
Design
The device has a clear colored mouthpiece to match the color of the body, a shiny metallic-style plastic section at the top, and a soft rubber body.
The back panel has the same soft rubber but also a lined texture. The back panel also has Fumot branding and the name of whatever flavor you’re vaping.
The front of the device has a screen that covers nearly the entire panel. And the bottom of the Phantom Box has an on/off switch and a USB-C charging port.
The body is rounded and feels really nice in my hand. It’s a good size too. It’s not bulky, so it feels good in use and in your pocket.
Full-Panel Screen
The screen covers almost the entire front panel of the Phantom Box. It’s big and looks great. It has bright, vivid, and crisp colors.
The top half of the screen shows some sort of design. I’m not sure if it’s supposed to be something in particular, but it has a sort of futuristic, space feel to me. There are jagged lines, sort of like audio wavelength lines that lead up to a horizon with a bunch of different colored circles and some sort of space robot in the middle. I don’t know. It’s just some random design that has nothing to do with the device as far as I can tell, but it at least keeps the front panel from looking plain and boring.
The second half of the screen shows all of your metrics. You’ll see your battery charge percentage on the left, the e-liquid level on the right, and the wattage you’ve set. It’s simple.
Functions and Features
You turn the device on with a switch on the bottom of the device. I always like when disposables have an on/off switch because then you don’t have to worry about it accidentally auto-firing.
When you move the switch one click to the left, or to the middle position, it puts the Phantom Box in 15w mode. And if you move it to the last position, it goes into 25w mode. There are also some flame symbols on the screen that indicate your mode. One flame symbol is 15w mode and two flame symbols show for 25w mode.
To get the most life out of the Phantom Box, you’ll want to use 15W mode, and that will give you the max estimated 36,000 puffs. If you like the stronger 25W mode, you’ll drop to an estimated 18,000 puffs.
Adjustable Airflow
The packaging says the Phantom Box supports MTL and DTL vaping.
So this has an adjustable airflow, but it’s built into the mode switch, which means you don’t have full control of it. In 15W mode, it opens up one airflow intake hole, and in 25W mode, it opens two.
It would have been nice to have the airflow separated from the modes, but they work well enough. I usually like a fairly restricted draw, but I actually would have liked to open up the airflow a little more in the lower wattage mode. It’s good enough, though.
Performance
This autodraws, so you take a hit, and it turns on.
15w mode is Eco mode, so it conserves battery life and the e-liquid will last longer, but you also get lighter hits. I’ve found this mode to be plenty satisfying. I get a great hit and excellent flavor.
But if you like bigger hits and more flavor, you have the 25w Power mode. I like this mode mostly for the more open airflow.
Both modes work great, so it’s really just a matter of preference and how long you want the Phantom Box to last.
Charging
The Phantom Box charges with a USB-C port at the bottom of the device. This has an 850mAH battery, which is a great size for a disposable. It should last you several days on a full charge.
Flavors
There are 16 flavors in the entire line, so you’ve got a lot to choose from, but they sent me eight to try so lets go over those:
Black Ice
This is a lightly sweetened blackberry flavor with a little ice on the end.
Blueberry Raspberry
This is a fairly standard blueberry raspberry flavor. It’s a little mellow, slightly sweet, and tasty.
Cherry Bomb
This is a very strange flavor. I can immediately taste the cherry flavor, but it’s mixed with what seems to be anise, or black licorice. It’s unique, and I’ve never had anything like it before.
Juicy Peach Ice
This is like a peach ring type of flavor. It tastes like peach, but has that earthy aftertaste that peach gummy rings have. It’s a good, mild flavor.
Miami Mint
This is a nice, sweet spearmint flavor. It’s cool and refreshing. The mint is a lot stronger in this flavor than the others, as you’d expect.
Pink Lemonade
Lemonade flavors are always my favorite. This one is great. It’s a nice pink lemonade that has both sweetness and sourness.
Tropical Rainbow Blast
This one has an odd taste to me, almost like it’s supposed to be similar to an alcoholic drink. It is tropical, though. I can’t point out any specific tropical fruits, but it does have a mix of several different fruits.
Watermelon Ice
This is a very mellow watermelon vape. It reminds me of the light watermelon flavor that a watermelon-flavored beer has. It has just a slight hint of ice, but that’s also really light. This is a nice, calm, relaxing vape.
They also have eight other flavors. Here’s the full list of flavors:
Banana Ice | Black Ice | Blueberry Raspberry |
Cherry Bomb | Double Apple | Grape Lemon |
Juicy Peach Ice | Miami Mint | Peach Mango Watermelon |
Pink Lemonade | Strawberry Mango | Strawberry Mint Candy |
Strawberry Watermelon | Tropical Rainbow Blast | Watermelon Ice |
White Gummy Ice |
Final Thoughts
I really like the Phantom Box. The design is nice, it’s comfortable to hold, and the soft rubbery feel of the body feels good.
Most of the flavors they sent me are very good. That Cherry Bomb flavor is very different and I think there are going to be some people who don’t like it, but I loved the uniqueness of it. The rest were fairly standard flavors, but also good. I’m a little undecided on Tropical Rainbow Blast because there’s something weird about the flavor of that one.
But the Phantom Box performs well, too. The hits are great, and I like that I can switch between 15 watts and 25 watts. I would have liked more control over the airflow, but the airflow works well enough between the two modes.
Fumot sent me the Phantom Box disposables for review. The price I see on their site is €26,99 EUR, which would be about $30 USD.
