Vaporesso XROS 4 Nano Kit

The Vaporesso XROS 4 Nano kit was sent to me for review from Sourcemore. Get it here with the discount code XR4N. This small square-shaped pod device has a stylish look, adjustable wattage of up to 30 watts, a bright, colorful screen, adjustable airflow, and excellent pods.

Design

This is a tiny little device with a lot of style. They come in a variety of great designs.

  • Race Track
  • Word-pop Yellow
  • Aquamarine
  • Word-pop Blue
  • Twilight Purple
  • Graphite Black
  • Titanium Silver

Nearly the entire face of the device is covered with a bright and colorful circular TFT screen. That screen shows the resistance of the pod, wattage, battery life, a puff counter, and a theme of your choosing.

At the top is a very nicely designed lanyard connector with a hole covered by a long chrome bar. It’s not just a cheap little hole like most devices have – Vaporesso kept style in mind all the way around on this device.

One side of the device has a button and a USB-C port and the other side has an airflow intake hole and an adjustable airflow slider.

And as I mentioned, this is small:

56.5mm (2.2”) tall, 55.25mm (2.1”) wide, and 20.9mm (0.8”) thick. And it weighs only 90g. For comparison, that’s about the weight of 4 AA batteries.

Features and Functions

To turn the device on, press the power button five times fast. From there, you can use the button for other functions:

  • 2 clicks: Setting Menu
  • 3 clicks: Adjust power/mode
  • 4 clicks: Lock/unlock the device

This is an adjustable wattage device, from 5 watts to 30, but only when using the 0.4 Ohm pod. It can be adjusted in 0.5-watt increments between 15 to 30 watts. I don’t see much benefit in 0.5-watt changes, but that’s just me. I’m sure some people like that level of control. I don’t think it’s necessary, but I don’t mind.

The XROS 4 Nano also has three power modes, but this is only if you’re using other XROS pods, including the 0.8 pod that comes in the kit:

  • Eco
  • Normal
  • Power

You can only use wattage mode on the 0.4 Ohm pod and only power modes on other pods. For example, you can’t adjust wattage on the 0.8Ohm pod.

The XROS Nano fires using either auto-draw or button-fire, and both modes are always activated. You can’t turn one or the other off.

The XROS 4 Nano has three themes – flower, motorcycle, and universe. So, if you want to personalize it a bit, you can do that from the settings menu. You can also turn the theme off if you like the screen simple.

Adjustable Airflow

The airflow is adjustable with a smooth slider on the side of the XROS 4 Nano. It’s designed for a range between tight and loose airflow.

The airflow is also different for each pod.

Using the 0.4Ohm pod, you can get a decent mouth-to-lung hit, but it’s not highly restricted. And with the airflow fully open, you get a very restricted lung draw. But it feels just slightly too tight for a lung draw and is better to me as a loose MTL draw.

Using the 0.8Ohm pod restricts the airflow much more. When the airflow is fully closed down with this pod, it’s so tight that you can’t really take a good hit. And that’s good because that means you can get as tight of a draw as you want with that pod. Fully open, it’s a slightly loose mouth-to-lung hit.

Pods

The pod that comes with the XROS 4 Nano uses what Vaporesso calls COREX 2.0 technology, which is a redesign of their XROS pods. They say the mesh size has been redesigned, and the cotton has been upgraded so that the pods heat faster, provide better flavor, and have a longer life span.

This kit has a 0.4Ohm pod and a 0.8Ohm pod, each holding 3ml of e-liquid. These are top-fill pods; just snap the top off and refill it. I always like this filling style because I can leave it in the device.

  • 0.4Ohm pod – The flavor is excellent. This one works best at the full 30 watts for me.
  • 0.8Ohm pod – The flavor seems just as good in this pod as it is in the 0.4Ohm pod.

The XROS 4 Nano is also compatible with all other XROS pods. And all pods feature their SSS Tech, which is designed to prevent leakage.

Battery and Charging

The XROS 4 Nano has a 1350mAh battery, which is quite large for a tiny device. A battery this size in such a small package is surprising and is awesome. You shouldn’t have any worries about this dying on you in the middle of the day. Vaporesso says that this is the biggest battery of all of their XROS devices and will last 4 days on a single charge. I’ve been using it for longer than a week at a time without needing to charge it.

It charges using USB-C and comes to a full charge in only 30 minutes. And if you’re in a rush, you can charge it to 80% in only 20 minutes.

In the Box:

  • Vaporesso XROS 4 Nano
  • One 0.6Ohm pod
  • One 0.8Ohm pod
  • Type-C cable
  • Lanyard

Final Thoughts

I like the XROS 4 Nano a lot. It looks sleek and high-end, feels solid and durable, and is small, making it very portable. The adjustable airflow works well and is different for each pod, so it’s customized to what users of each pod is likely to prefer. And you can change wattage or power modes (depending on the pod), so it’s nice to have some options. Overall, I’m a fan.

This usually sells for $35.80, but you can get the Vaporesso XROS 4 Nano from Sourcemore for $22.29 with the code: XR4N
