The VOOPOO Argus P1s was sent to me for review from Sourcemore. This is a stick-style pod device designed with looks and simplicity in mind.
Design
It has a nice modern design. This is a stick-shaped version of the original Argus P1. It doesn’t really look similar to the P1, but it does use their popular Gene chip and the same pods. VOOPOO calls it a cyberpunk design, but it doesn’t have a cyberpunk vibe to me. I think they say that just because you can see the chip inside. That is pretty cool and it’s a great-looking device, though.
But I do have one complaint. It looks like where the clear case touches the pattern under it, there seem to be either air bubbles or visible glue. So it’s not as clean as I would prefer. Still, the device looks really good.
It’s 112mm (4.4 in.) tall, 25.7mm (1 in) wide, and 13.5mm (0.5 in) thick.
Features and Performance
There’s no button on the Argus P1S, so this is activated simply by taking a draw. It hits really smoothly and efficiently. Each hit feels really good and perfectly powered.
The device has a 5-25 output range, but since there aren’t any buttons on here, that means the device automatically chooses your wattage based on the pod you have installed.
According to VOOPOO’s website, the 0.7 Ohm coil is in the range of 14-18 watts, and the 1.2 Ohm coil is in the range of 8-12 watts.
The LED light on the chip lights up while you’re vaping and cycles through several colors.
Pods
There are two see-through pods available for the P1S, and VOOPOO included one of each in the kit. The pods hold 2ml of e-liquid, which is plenty. The coils are designed for a longer lifespan by using fluffier cotton and precisely placed wire to heat the cotton efficiently. That’s how VOOPOO describes it, anyway. And they say each pod should last at least 23 full days of vaping.
0.7 Ohm Pod
Lots of vapor and great flavor. The airflow is more open than the 1.2 ohm pod, but it’s still a mouth-to-lung. You could take a lung draw, but I think it’s too tight to be enjoyable that way. And that’s not really what it’s designed for, so for MTL hits, it works great.
1.2 Ohm Pod
This one performs nearly the same as the 0.7 pod, but it has a slightly more restricted airflow. It has great flavor, and you still get a lot of vapor. It’s a great pod.
VOOPOO includes a card in the box that describes the features of each coil.
The coils in the pods are not removable, but VOOPOO also separately sells an empty pod cartridge that allows you to install individual coils, which includes the two that come in this kit, but also a 0.5 Ohm and a 1.0 Ohm coil.
Airflow
The airflow is a loose mouth-to-lung draw. This doesn’t have adjustable airflow but if you wanted, you could close one of the airflow intakes on the side of the device to make the draw tighter if you want, and that actually works really well.
Battery
The battery inside the P1S is an 800mAh battery, which is fairly standard for small pod devices of this size, and that’s good. 800mAh is a perfect size and will last most people a full day of vaping. It lasts me several days.
The Argus P1S charges using a USB-C cable and charges fast at 2amps in only 20 minutes.
The LED light also indicates the battery charge. There are three bars on the LED.

Final Thoughts
The Argus P1S is a simple stick-style pod device. There aren’t really any features here, which makes it super simple for anyone to use, but this doesn’t need extra features. The big feature is really how it performs, and it performs amazingly. I love vaping this thing. It’s comfortable to hold, the coils fire perfectly, and the flavor is excellent. The design is great, too, although I’m disappointed in the air bubbles under the casing of the one I received.
