The Yocan Go: A Smart E-Rig Disguised as a Water Bottle

Yocan sent me the Yocan Go for review. This is an e-rig designed to look like a small water bottle. It’s more than that, though. It’s an excellent vape with great features, a stylish design, and made with quality materials.

Design

This e-rig looks like a water bottle – straw, carrying strap, and all.

At the top of the Go is the straw. You can choose between either a glass or metal straw. Both come in the box. There’s also a spot at the top to hold the dab tool.

Then, you have the electronic part of the device, which has a coil adapter, a carb cover, and a hole for the included pick tool at the top. On the side are the OLED screen and the buttons to operate the Go.

The bottom of the device is the glass bottle, which holds your water and fills up with vapor. Inside the bottle is a glass chimney-piece, which directs your vapor through the water to filter it.

You also have an optional silicone cover for the bottle. You don’t have to use it, but it conceals the glass and adds some protection.

The Go comes in the colors of black, red, blue, and white

Glass Container and Silicone Cover

The glass container slides onto the Go over a thick silicone seal. It holds in place nice and strong.

You fill this up to the water lines printed on the side. My only complaint here is that there are several lines and it’s not obvious which line you’re supposed to use. It probably doesn’t matter a whole lot, as long as there’s enough water for the inner glass chamber to be under the water. As long as you stay under the top line, you should be fine.

If you want, you can also cover the glass container with the included silicone cover. It’s a nice thick silicone that should keep the glass safe. It might not protect from a far drop, but it’ll make you feel safe from small drops.

There’s also a little round hole at the bottom of the silicone cover. Yocan designed this to work as an Apple Airtag holder. That’s a really neat feature. These devices aren’t cheap, so that’s a good way to protect your investment.

How to Use the Yocan Go

Choose the straw you want to use. The glass straw is nice but it’s also glass, so keep that in mind if you’re using the Go where it might get knocked over, in which case you might want to use the metal straw instead.

You don’t have to use water in the Go if you don’t want, but water will cool and filter the vapor and make it less harsh. So fill that up to where you want it and then put it back on the device.

Screw in the coil and add your concentrate of choice. The Go also comes with little glass pearls that you can add to the coil. You only need 2-3.

While you’re taking a hit, these little beads spin around in the coil and help spread the concentrate all around for a nice even hit. You don’t have to use these though. It’s just a nice little addition.

Then place the carb cap over the coil.

Set your temperature and how long you want each hit to fire. Pushing the joystick left or right sets the temperature and pushing it up or down sets the time. You can set it from 440-660 degrees Fahrenheit and 15-120 seconds in duration. There’s a 1 minute break time between each session.

Then you press the joystick in twice to start it. The Go heats up really quick, but typically between 8-20 seconds depending on how high you’ve set the temperature. While it’s heating, you’ll see a cool RGB light light up around the top of the glass.

While sipping from the straw, you can tap the little glass bead in the carb cap to let airflow in. This part is personal preference, but I like to press it every couple of seconds.

Cleaning the Go

Cleaning the Go is really easy. The ceramic of the coil is smooth and slippery so you can wipe that out easily with a cotton swab. You can also use a little isopropyl alcohol. Yocan included a few in the kit to get started, but any swab will do. Wipe it out with a wet swab and then use the dry end of the swap to dry it.

After cleaning it, Yocan recommends firing the device for 10 second to burn off off any leftovers.

You should also empty out the water from the glass container when you’re done. Then you can clean that out by hand with some soap and water. Same with the inner glass tube. And then wipe the bottom of the device with a cloth or paper towel. That’s pretty much it.

Coils

The coil that comes in the box is the Yocan Cloud 2 coil, which is a popular ceramic coil that comes very highly recommended from a lot of people. This is an excellent coil. It’s easy to use and easy to clean. It also heats fast and efficiently. The temperature settings feel accurate. The coil also produces great flavor.

The Cloud 2 coils only support concentrates, but Yocan has said that they’re working on new dry herb coil, so keep an eye out for that.

Battery and Charging

The Go charges with a USB-C cable, which comes in the kit. This is a really unique cable too. It’s very thick and durable, and for good reason. It wraps around the silicone cover and can be used as a carrying strap. This is a great feature because you’ll always have the charging cable with you when you need it. When not in use, there’s a little cap that covers both ends of the USB cable to keep the ends clean, but also hidden. So it just looks like a normal carrying strap.

The Go has a 2000mAh battery and takes 2.5 hours to charge. Yocan says the Go can last 25 sessions on a full charge, so you get a lot of use out of each charge.

Final Thoughts

It’s a little pricey at $180, but compared to other e-rigs of this size, I’d consider it a good deal.

This is an awesome device. It’s simple and easy to use and has so many cool features. I love that it looks like a water bottle and that the USB cable works like a bottle strap. The silicone cover keeps the glass covered and adds protection. And I get some nice flavorful satisfying hits. It’s also a great size and feels comfortable to hold. Yocan did a great job here.
