  • XLIM SQ device
  • Two pods

  • Lanyard
  • Vinyl Wrap

Design

The device looks and feels nice. They’re little square devices with rounded edges and a body made of aluminum alloy. One side of the device has some OXVA branding, nothing too big or obnoxious; I think it looks good. And next to that logo is a little LED light. The other side shows the device name printed on it. And on the side of the device is an airflow control switch.

They come in eight different colors; four solids and four gradients. In gradients, they have Arctic Ice, Gold Blue, Pink Green, and Purple Black. The solid colors come in Light Blue, Gold, Pink, and Black.

This thing is super compact too. It’s about the size of two pods. But more accurately, it measures 14mm thick (0.55 inches), it’s ~46mm (1.8 inches) from side to side and top to bottom, and from the bottom of the device to the top of the pod, it’s 69mm (2.7 inches). And it weighs 44g.

Bart Simpson Vinyl Wrap

OXVA also includes a vinyl wrap so that you can change the design of the device. I don’t know if this is a standard accessory or just something sent to reviewers, but this has to be one of the strangest accessories I’ve ever seen to come with a vape device. First of all, I doubt The Simpsons have given OXVA the license to use on vape devices, but also, why The Simpsons? It’s such a weird extra. I love the idea of including a vinyl wrap, but I would have preferred a different color, not a character from a cartoon.

Adjustable Airflow Control

At the side of the XLIM SQ is a small slider switch that lets you adjust the airflow.

With the airflow completely closed down, you get a really tight draw. I think most people will want to open that up just a tiny bit more to get a good MTL hit, but some of you might actually like how tight that is, so I like how restricted OXVA has made the airflow here. With the airflow wide open, the draw is a slightly restricted lung hit.

Pods

The XLIM SQ uses the same pods as the other XLIM devices so if you already have one of those devices, or want to get others in the future, you can use these pods there too.

There are three pods available for this device; a 0.8 Ohm, a 1.2 Ohm, and a 0.6 Ohm. OXVA describes the 0.8 and 1.2 Ohm pods as designed for MTL and Nicsalt vaping and the 0.6 Ohm pod for RDL (restricted direct lung) and freebase nic vaping. And that makes sense. But you can use these pods however you like, those are just typical ways they’re used.

  • 0.6 Ohm – Rated for 20-25 watts.
  • 0.8 Ohm – Rated for 12-16 watts.
  • 1.2 Ohm – Rated for 10-12 watts.

I get some good strong hits and excellent flavor from all of these coils. I’ve been happy with them all.

Battery and Charging

The XLIM SQ has a 900 mAh internal battery. For a device this small, that’s a pretty good battery. If you’re doing mostly MTL vaping, that should get you through a full day easily. If you’re doing restricted direct lung vaping, and you vape heavily, you might have to charge this before the day is up. But I think this is a good-sized battery.

This charges through USB-C and this comes with a USB-C cable too. Just plug it into the bottom of the device, and you’re good. I think it would have been nice to have the charging port on the side of the device so that it could charge while standing up, but it’s not a huge deal.

Lanyard

The XLIM SQ comes with a metal chain lanyard. It’s actually a very nice lanyard. It’s strong, looks good, and it’s easy to connect. The connector has a little raindrop clasp, as you’d find on a necklace. So it’s nice and easy to connect and remove.

Final Thoughts

This is a nice little pod system. It really compact, so if you don’t have a lot of room in your pockets, this is a great setup that won’t take up a lot of space. The flavor from the pods are really good too. And I love that they were still able to fit an adjustable airflow in this little thing. I think it’s a great little setup.
