Sourcemore sent me the Geekvape Wenax Pro for review. This is a stick-style pod vape with a 1200mAh battery, haptic features, and some degree of protection from drop damage.
They also gave me a coupon code, WEQP, to get the Geekvape Wenax Q Pro for only $20.29.
Design
It’s a standard stick-shaped vape with a firing button, screen, and adjustment buttons on the front. The screen is bright and has vivid colors. The firing button has a nice LED ring around it too. The side of the device has an adjustable airflow slider. And at the top is where the pod goes. The pod section of the device also lights up. The only thing I don’t like about the design is that the pod isn’t flush with the device.
The screen is a 0.96” screen and shows a puff counter, your setting, the wattage, the battery’s charge, and the coil’s resistance in whatever pod you use.
It comes in many colors:
- Black
- Sunset Gold
- Aurora Green
- Twilight Red
- Luminous Purple
- Azure Blue
- Moonlit Silver
- Starlight Grey
Features
Press the button five times fast to turn it off and on. The button is flat and smooth and feels nice to use. It has tiny LEDs that light up when you turn the device on or off. The button also has haptic-feedback built into it, so you can feel a vibration when doing something like turning it off and on, or changing pods.
The Wenax Q Pro has a max of 30 watts.
The Wenax Q Pro fires using either auto-draw or button-fire, so you can use whichever you prefer. They both work equally well in my opinion.
Press the firing button three times fast to enter the menu. Then, press the up and down buttons to move through the menu options and the firing button to select an option.
- Mode
- Lock
- Puff Reset
- Eco
- Exit
The Mode menu lets you choose between Smart or Power modes. Smart mode auto-sets the wattage based on the resistance of the pod you’re using. Power mode lets you set the wattage to any specific wattage you want.
Adjustable Airflow
The adjustable airflow switch is on the side of the device. Three holes open up beneath the slider, but the slider moves smoothly into any position you want, so you can open it up as much or as little as you want. Airflow ranges between MTL to RDL. With the airflow slider closed, it’s not completely shut off, and I can get a very restricted Mouth to Lung draw. With the slider open, the draw can be either a very loose MTL draw or a restricted lung draw, but it’s more comfortable to vape as a lung draw.
Anti-Drop Bottom
The bottom of the device has extra protection to protect it from being dropped. It’s a thick silicone rubber base on the bottom. The device doesn’t have full-body coverage to protect from drops, but it does where you’re most likely to drop it. My guess is that a lot of people have these accidentally slip out of their hands. So it’s cool that GeekVape added some protection there.
Pods
The Q pro uses the Q Series cartridges from GeekVape, which gives you access to three pods; the 0.6, 0.8, and 1.2 Ohm pods.
- 0.6 – This pod is rated for 18-25 watts. You’ll get a big hit from this pod and the vape is warmer than the 0.8 pod. The flavor is great.
- 0.8 – This pod is rated for 12-18 watts. The difference between this one and the 0.6 is very noticeable. The vape is cool and much lighter. The flavor is still great here.
A 1.2 Ohm pod is also available in this line, but I don’t have that one to test. The 1.2 Ohm pod is rated for 8-12 watts and is probably what you’d want to use if you’re using high nicotine or nicotine salts.
Internal Battery
The battery in the Wenax Q Pro is a 1200mAh battery and charges using a USB-C cable. It charges at 5V/2A fast charge and takes only 30 minutes to reach an 80% charge.
In the Box
- GeekVape Wenax Q Pro
- USB-C charging cable
- 2x Pods: 0.6 and 0.8 Ohm
Final Thoughts
The Wenax Q Pro is a great device. It has a sleek design, it’s small and comfortable to hold, the pods have excellent flavor, and the haptic feedback is a nice feature. I like that the pods can be filled while still attached the device too. The only thing I would have liked would be if the pod was flush with the device, but it’s only a minor complaint and doesn’t impact how the Wenax Q Pro works in any way.
