Wotofo sent me the Aerok Pod Kit for review. This pod vape has adjustable wattage up to 30 watts, a large 1650mAh battery, a compact design, and pod options for all types of vape preferences.
Design
The Aerok is a slim device with a sleek oxidized finish, which looks like brushed metal. The body is made of aluminum alloy.
The body is thin, so it fits nicely in my pocket. The rounded edges are nice, too. The whole thing just feels good in my hand.
The 0.69” OLED screen shows your battery charge, wattage setting, the resistance of your pod, and how many lifetime puffs you’ve taken.
Above the screen is the settings button.
Wotofo makes the Aerok in four colors: silver, blue, black, and red.
Features
The device has adjustable wattage from 5 watts and up to a max of 30 watts. You can set the wattage by clicking the button three times fast and then single-clicking it to adjust it in 1-watt increments.
It fires fast, too. Most devices fire fast these days anyway, but Wotofo touts a speed of 0.001 seconds, so that’s really quick.
You also have the option to choose how you want the device to fire.
You can use either auto draw mode or dual mode. Duel mode gives you both auto draw and button fire. But if you want to turn off the button so that it’s not accidentally pressed, you can switch to only auto draw mode.
Pods
The AEROK comes with two pods, both with a 4ml capacity. That’s a lot of e-liquid. If you’re in the UK, you’ll have to settle for the required 2ml capacity.
The mouthpiece is round, which is fine. I like the flatter mouthpieces better, but this works well enough.
These pods use replaceable coil heads, too, so you only need to buy the coils, and you can use the pods indefinitely. You get a 0.8 Ohm coil and a 0.6 Ohm coil in the box.
The 0.8 Ohm coil is designed for mouth-to-lung vaping, and the 0.6 Ohm coil is designed for restricted-direct-lung vaping. Both are designed for high levels of flavor production.
0.6 Ohm coil: This coil is rated for 17-20 watts. You’ll get more power from the device, more vapor, and warmer vapor. This one is designed for RDL (restricted direct lung) vaping, but it works just fine in MTL mode, too, and that’s actually how I’ve been using it. This one is the better option for freebase liquids.
0.8 Ohm coil: This coil is rated for 12-15 watts. You’ll get a cooler vape but smoother and better flavor than the 0.6 Ohm coil. This one is designed for mouth-to-lung vaping and is better for nic salt e-liquids.
The e-liquid fill port is on the side of the pod, and you have to remove it from the device to fill it up, so that’s one drawback but a minor one.
Adjustable Airflow
The adjustable airflow is built into the pod, which is different. We don’t see that too often. It’s at the top of the pod, so it’s easy to access. It works really well too. It ranges from MTL to RDL. It closes off completely, so in the MTL range, you can get as tight of a draw as you’d want. When the airflow is fully open, the restricted direct lung hit is almost too restricted for me to get a comfortable lung hit. I would have liked for it to open up just a tiny bit more. I’ve been using that mode for loose MTL hits instead.
Battery and Charging
The Aerok has an internal 1650mAh battery, which I think is huge for a device of this size. You should be able to get days of use on a single charge, even if you’re running this at the full 30 watts.
The battery charges using USB-C, so it charges fast. The charging port is at the bottom of the device.
Final Thoughts
I like the style of the Aerok and how it feels in my hands. It performs really well, it fires super fast, the airflow works great (though I would have liked a little more air for restricted direct lung hits), and the flavor from the pods is excellent. I also love that the pods use coils rather than needing to replace the entire pod.
Wotofo sent the Aerok for the purpose of review. You can pick it up from them for $29.95 here.
