Last week on Sept. 6th, Mitch Zeller published a blog post on the FDA Voice blog, encouraging tobacco companies, including e-juice manufacturers, to submit documents that contain trade secrets.
This document is called the tobacco product master file (TPMF). This is a voluntary file that would benefit the industry as a whole, or at least that’s the idea behind it.

For the average person looking to get off smoking, there’s not a lot that needs to be said about the Juul. You plug in a pod and hit it. It’s draw-activated using a pressure sensor, which means all you need to do is take a drag and it turns on. There are no buttons to press.
But if you’re interested in the technical details, let’s really dig in.

This is a 24mm sub ohm tank created by Asvape. I took a look around their website and I’ve learned that the “A” and the “S” in Asvape stands for American Standard, which is interesting since they are in China. But I guess we’re their target market. They’ve been in business for about 7 years according to their Facebook page. They sell three different mods and two different atomizers – one of those atomizers is this Cobra Tank.
So let’s take a look at it.
There’s a user on Reddit named /u/BadConductor, who is an engineer that does circuit design and failure analysis in his regular line of work. He also enjoys it as a hobby. So he has started publishing teardowns of devices that tend to fail. He has already done a teardown of the SMOK Alien 220w and he just published a teardown of the SMOK AL85.
Here a little study that I did myself! During my last giveaway, I ran a poll. I asked entrants to answer one multiple choice question; Do you only build your own coils, buy only pre-built coils, or both.
As you might have heard, on July 21st, judge Amy Berman Jackson ruled in favor of the FDA in the Nicopure vs FDA lawsuit, leaving the FDA in full control of regulating vapor products as tobacco products.
It was already expected that Nicopure would appeal the decision and now that’s what they’ve done.
In July 2017, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) published a report about how smoking in movies can result in youth using tobacco products. They start out their report with some strong accusations. The report says that the former Surgeon General has concluded that there is a causal relationship between young people starting to smoke and depictions of smoking in movies. They claim that kids who are heavily exposed to smoking in movies are two to three times more likely to start smoking.
